FAQ
What Is Epoxy Floor Coating?
Epoxy is a resin and hardener in liquid form. While in liquid form the epoxy can seap into the open pores of the concrete. As is cures it creates a mechanical bond and chemically reacts transforming the liquid epoxy into a hard plastic material that is durable, easy to clean, chemically resistant, not prone to peeling, cracking or delaminating. Epoxy coatings with proper care, can last for decades. Proper care is easy, just mop or spray the surface to clean it and avoid dragging or dropping heavy items across the floor and you have beautiful floors for years to come, and if after time the floor does become dull, a fresh topcoat will brighten them back up.
What is the Process of Epoxy Floor Coating?
Epoxy Floor Coating is a process of coating and protecting concrete. Concrete is porous. The first step is to remove the top layer that may contain sealer, staining and build up. We do this by diamond  grinding or shot blasting the concrete. Once the pores of the concrete are exposed we make an epoxy patch and patch any cracks, divots or imperfections in the substrate. After this is done the base coat of epoxy is applied.

The next step is adding an aggregate (options described below) if desired. A top coat is then applied to give the floor a gloss and or slip resistant finished, making it the most durable and long lasting floor possible.

This is the basic process for the majority of epoxy flooring installations. The process may vary depending on the application desired.
What are the different options available?
We offer several options:
-Solid Color
-Random Flake
-Full Flake
-Quartz
-Metallic
-Stained Concrete
What is a Solid Color Epoxy Floor Coating?
A solid color epoxy floor coating is a base coat of colored epoxy followed by a top coat of either clear or colored epoxy. Depending on the use of the space, we offer different top coat options.

For example: if a solid color coating is installed in a high chemically exposure area we offer a topcoat that would be more chemically resistant.
What is a Random Flake Epoxy Floor Coating?
A random flake epoxy coating starts with a solid color base coat followed by broadcasting color flakes randomly but evenly into the coating. There is a vast array of color options available to meet your design needs. There are also several size options to choose from. Once the base coat is applied and the color chips are broadcast the epoxy is left to cure. Once it has cured, a top coat is applied. We also offer an optional slip resistance finish.
What is A Full Flake Epoxy Coating?
A full flake epoxy coating starts with a base coat of a colored epoxy complementing the color of flake you have chosen. Once the base coat is applied, the color chips are broadcast onto the base coat coating to refusal (completely covering the floor). Once the flake is broadcast, the epoxy is left to cure. Once it is fully cured the excess flake is cleared and the topcoat is applied with optional slip resistance.
What is a Quartz Epoxy Floor Coating?
First, what is quartz? Quartz is a color granule much like a colored sand. A quartz epoxy coating starts with a base coat of colored epoxy complementing the quartz color chosen. Once the base coat is applied, the quartz is broadcast to refusal (completely covering the floor). Depending on the application, a coat of a clear epoxy is applied and a second broadcast of quartz is broadcast, again to refusal. Once the epoxy has cured a topcoat is applied and, if a slip resistance is desired we can add it but this is usually not necessary as quartz being sand like it is naturally slip resistant.
What is a Metallic Epoxy Floor Coating?
A metallic epoxy floor coating gives a unique marbled look. The metallic finish is achieved by using metallic pigmented powder. There are many color options available and more than one color can be used to achieve a beautiful look with a lot of depth. When applying a metallic coating we start with a base coat of colored epoxy to complement the finished floor. Once the base coat has has some time to cure we apply a second coat of epoxy. What sets us apart from the competition is that our metallic pigmented coat of epoxy is specially formulated to work with the metallic pigmented powder to allow the pigment to move freely to achieve the best marbling. This coat contains the metallic powder and may contain multiple mixes of different metallic colors. These color mixes are poured and mixed on the floor to create a marbled look. A metallic finish is a true work of art and no two metallic floors will look the same. The final step is to add a clear top coat with optional slip resistance.
