The Epoxy Process

Epoxy is a resin and hardener in liquid form. While in liquid form, the epoxy can seep into the open pores of the concrete. As it cures, it creates a mechanical bond and chemically reacts transforming the liquid epoxy into a hard plastic coating that is durable, easy to clean, chemically resistant, not prone to peeling, cracking or delaminating. Epoxy coatings with proper care can last for decades. Proper care is easy, just mop or spray the surface to clean it and avoid dragging or dropping heavy items across the floor and you have beautiful floors for years to come, and if after time the floor does become dull, a fresh topcoat will brighten them back up.

Even though epoxy flooring is best known for being easy to clean and extremely durable, the color and style options really make epoxy flooring a must for many residential, commercial and industrial applications. Our Epoxy flooring ( delete- base coats) comes in many colors and styles.

1) Prepare the Surface

The first step is to remove the top layer that may contain sealer, staining and build up. We do this by diamond grinding or shot blasting the concrete. Once the pores of the concrete are exposed we make an epoxy patch and patch any cracks, divots or imperfections in the substrate.

2) Base Coat

After the surface is prepared the base coat of epoxy is applied. The base coat consists of a solid color epoxy that can be combined with an aggregate to create a unique look or style.

3) Decorative Layer

A decorative aggregate is added if desired. Some of our most popular styles are random flake, full flake, and quartz. Also, we have many solid colors and metallic finishes available.

4) Clear Top Coat

A top coat is finally applied to give the floor a gloss and or slip resistant finished, making it the most durable and long lasting floor possible.
